ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: THE PROJECT TEAM WILL DEVELOP THE ONLINE MARKETPLACE SYSTEM CAPABLE OF CENTRALIZED DISPATCH OF WORK ORDERS TO ALLOW PRODUCERS REAL-TIME FEEDBACK ON ORDER LIFETIME AND CONNECTION TO COURIER SERVICES (ORCHESTRATION INFRASTRUCTURE).  THE TEAM WILL DEVELOP SPECIFICATION EXTRACTION ALGORITHMS AND SUPPLY-DEMAND MATCHING ALGORITHMS TO ACCOMMODATE COMPONENT SPECIFICATION, AS WELL AS MANUFACTURING MODELS FOR PERFORMANCE EVALUATION.  THEY WILL ALSO DEVELOP USER COMMUNITY SUPPORT TRAINING FOR MARKETPLACE GROWTH AND SUSTAINMENT AND DEMONSTRATE VALUE WITH REAL-WORK USE CASES AND STUDENT-DEVISED BUSINESS-TO-CONSUMER USE CASES.EXPECTED OUTCOMES: THIS PROJECT WILL ENABLE AN ONLINE TOOL AT THE PROOF-OF-CONCEPT STAGE THAT SUPPORTS FLEXIBLE, SUSTAINABLE, AND RESILIENT SUPPLY AND DEMAND CHAINS USING AN OPEN, SERVICE-ORIENTED CLOUD-BASED PLATFORM.  AN ONLINE DIGITAL MARKETPLACE IS NEEDED TO RAPIDLY CONNECT THOSE IN NEED OF PRODUCTS WITH QUALIFIED MANUFACTURING AND SUPPLY CHAIN PARTNERS TO REDUCE THE TIME TO MARKET FOR CRITICAL PRODUCTS. INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: MANUFACTURERS WILL BENEFIT FROM IMPROVED ACCESSIBILITY TO THEIR PRODUCTS, SERVICES, AND MANUFACTURING RESOURCES FROM THIS ORCHESTRATION SERVICE PLATFORM, WHILE CONSUMERS WILL GAIN UNPRECEDENTED ACCESS TO EXISTING PRODUCTS AND MANUFACTURING RESOURCES THAT CAN MEET URGENT NEEDS.
