{"id":"https://openalex.org/G7174552425","display_name":"Joint lab for the design of innovative electromechanical materials and their applications","description":"Electromechanical materials convert an electric energy in a mechanical one and vice versa. These materials undergo currently an outstanding development driven by the facts that: - they play a major role in various domains of critical technologies: Health, defence, aerospace, - they are a key element of the new \"electrification of the society\" (embedded and autonomous sensors, energy harvesting, actuators), - finally they are studied as an ever more convincing alternative to Rare Earth elements-based devices in renewable energy conversion of natural movements (wind, water flows and waves) into electricity. These timely challenges create novel needs unanswered by the current state of the art (PZT piezoceramics and PVDF copolymers) and constitute as many technological hurdles that need to surpass in order to improve tomorrow's devices. These hurdles are declined in research axes: - materials with novel properties to improve electromechanical performances (anti-ferroelectrics, giant electrostrictors), - new compositions with reduced ecological impact (lead-free: KNN, BNT-BCT, BCTZ), - new fabrication methods enabling advanced geometries and cost reduction (textured ceramics, 3D printing, injection moulding) The general approach of this LabCom is to address these three axes over the entire design chain, from the solid state physics and the intimate characterization/understanding of the material and its properties to its integration in an industrial device. The partners of this LabCom: the Structures, Properties and Modelling of Solids lab (CNRS, CentraleSup\u00e9lec, Universit\u00e9 Paris-Saclay) and the company PYTHEAS Technology there has as its main objective to combine their respective expertises, means and know-how's to develop innovative electro-mechanical devices based on non-conventional materials that are environmentally friendly and state-of-the-art fabrication methods. The research program will specifically start by addressing the following themes: 1) giant electrostrictors for renewable energy harvesting, 2) antiferroelectric materials for piezo-hydraulics devices, 3) development of novel synthesis methods for a biomedical probe","funder_award_id":"ANR-21-LCV2-0003","funder":{"id":"https://openalex.org/F4320320883","display_name":"Agence Nationale de la Recherche","doi":"10.13039/501100001665"},"funded_outputs":["https://openalex.org/W4396773577","https://openalex.org/W4408333909","https://openalex.org/W4416745286"],"funded_outputs_count":3,"parent_awards":[],"sub_awards":[],"sub_awards_count":0,"amount":362999.99,"currency":"EUR","amount_usd":408737.99,"amount_usd_basis":"daily_rate","recipients":[],"recipient_countries":[],"recipient_regions":[],"research_scope":{"is_research":true,"basis":"funder_default","tier":1},"funding_type":"grant","funder_scheme":"LabCom","start_date":"2022-02-01","end_date":null,"start_year":2022,"end_year":null,"landing_page_url":"https://anr.fr/Projet-ANR-21-LCV2-0003","doi":null,"provenance":"anr_opendata","lead_investigator":{"given_name":"Alice","family_name":"AUBRY","orcid":null,"role_start":null,"affiliation":{"name":"PYTHEAS Technology","country":"France","ids":null}},"co_lead_investigator":null,"investigators":null,"works_api_url":"https://api.openalex.org/works?filter=awards.id:G7174552425","primary_topic":null,"topics":null,"institution_awarded":[],"updated_date":"2026-10-16T03:01:01.000Z","created_date":"2026-09-10T23:08:02.000Z"}
