Recently, we demonstrated that cancer cells require unsaturated lipids to survive under these conditions, suggesting a novel therapeutic target for cancer treatment. This proposal investigates the role of unsaturated lipids in cancer cell metabolism and survival, and how this influences stress responses with the endoplasmic reticulum.
